About Biripi Country

This page is about who we are and our connection to Biripi Country and the Mid North Coast of NSW. Here you can learn how this site came to be, what we stand for, and why we care about bringing people and information together on Country. Whether you’re from the mob, work with Aboriginal organisations, or are new to the region, we hope it helps you understand the place this website holds in the community.

Who we are

We are a community-focused initiative that supports and promotes Biripi Aboriginal organisations, events and opportunities. We don’t deliver programs ourselves—instead, we provide a shared space where local organisations can list their services and events, and where mob, partners and visitors can find what’s on and who to contact. Our aim is to make it easier for everyone to find and share what’s happening on Country: from health and wellbeing services to cultural events, jobs and training. The site is run with and for community, and we keep it updated by working with organisations and listening to what people need.

Our Country

Biripi Country is on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales—from the Manning and Hastings valleys to the coast and hinterland. It is a place of strong culture, long history and living community. The land, waters and people here are connected; this website exists to support that connection by making it easier to find local Aboriginal services, events and opportunities. We work with and for community to keep this site useful, respectful and relevant, and we encourage anyone visiting or working on Country to learn about Biripi people and to engage with respect.

Our Values

Connection

Bringing people and information together.
We value connection because information about Biripi organisations, events and opportunities is often scattered. We bring it into one place so mob, local organisations and the wider community can find what they need and stay in touch with what’s happening on Country. Strong connections between people, place and information support culture and community.

Respect

Honouring Biripi culture, Elders and Country.
Everything we do is grounded in respect for Biripi people as Traditional Custodians, for Elders past, present and emerging, and for Country itself. We present information in a way that honours culture and language, and we work with community so the site stays accurate, appropriate and respectful.

Access

Making organisations, events and opportunities easy to find.
We believe useful information should be easy to find. By listing Biripi organisations, programs, events and opportunities in one place, we reduce barriers so community members, organisations and visitors can discover and use what’s available. Access supports participation, inclusion and stronger outcomes for mob and the region.

Community

Centring mob and local Aboriginal organisations.
The site exists to serve Biripi mob and local Aboriginal organisations first. We don’t speak for them; we support them by making their work, events and services more visible and easier to find. Community input and feedback keep the site relevant and useful for the people it’s for.
